RPi Foundation doing good so far.

So the Raspberry Pi Foundation appears to be doing alright. There has been about 1.5 million, Model B’s and Model A’s produced so far. Their distributors seem to be getting their act together, Though RS/Allied still seem to be more than willing to roll over their customers when they see fit.

The foundation came out with a Camera for the CSI connector.

Still a lot of people posting about their RaSPii not working, when in fact it is, because they have not set up the OS properly, mostly. They also still post rather than look at the FAQ’s or the Wiki before posting. The NOOBS (New Out of Box Software) download should help to solve some of this. Real easy to use, just download it onto your system, then extract it to your FAT32 SD card. Some people still seem to be able to screw this up. I tried NOOBS and BerryBoot and I personally like BerryBoot better.

The choice to use 5V, micro USB cell phone chargers, is still giving some people fits with their RasPi. F3 seems to still be giving some people problems, but this is probably bad PSU’s also.

It looks like the closest contender to the RasPi might be the Beagle Bone Black at $45.
